Ahoy hoy! I had quite a busy week (there was RUNNING again!). I’ll actually recap my week in running soon, since I actually started training again. đŸ™‚

Galaxy Series Pillow

It’s time for another product review. This time around, I’m reviewing the Bedgear Galaxy 2.0 performance pillow. Why do I care about pillows? The older that I get, the more I realize that sleep matters. It matters a LOT. I asked an elite runner what the most important part of training that isn’t running is, and his response was sleep.

I haven’t exactly been great at this. 8 hours of sleep a night is the target, but I probably average somewhere around 6 to 6.5. My thinking is, if you can’t get the quantity that you’d like, you better get the quality.

Bedgear specializes in products to improve your sleep experience. One especially cool thing is their website will help you select the right pillow for your body and for the way you sleep. I needed the help, believe me.

I couldn’t say it better than this. The coolness is real.

I grew up with pretty typical pillows, nothing special. My wife bought me a decent pillow a couple of years ago that I’ve been using until now. This Galaxy 2.0 is really my first “high end” pillow. I think it’s one of those things that you don’t know the difference between a decent pillow and a great pillow until you try a great pillow.

Right out of the box, I could tell the quality is there. The Galaxy was definitely cool and is firm without being stiff. I enjoyed using it to sleep. I’m a SUPER hot sleeper, so I did flip the pillow once a night to get that sweet sweet coolness back.

Obviously, it’s hard to quantify the effect of using the Galaxy on my sleep. The only thing I can be sure about is that I like it more than any of my old pillows and will continue to use it. I decided to buy the DriTec Pillow Protector for mine.

Admittedly, it is not a cheap pillow. The sticker price is probably outside my normal budget for a pillow. As I get older and wiser (mostly older), my priorities do shift a bit. Where I used to be more hesitant to spend money, I’m starting to realize the importance. I use a pillow every single day. Doesn’t that make it pretty important?

If you’re interested in finding the right Bedgear for you, I do have a 15% discount code (use BIBRAVE15 at bedgear.com) that will help bring the price down. I hope it gives you the rest you’re looking for!

  1. Jason found an app that shows all NFL games for free so I’ve gotten to see more Miami games this year than any other year. The one weekend it kept acting up – he thinks the servers were getting shut down – but the past 2 weeks it’s worked. Living in south central PA we’re dominated by Baltimore, Philly and Pitt games… if I get one Miami game I’m lucky so this app has been wonderful!

  2. Hmm that is a tad odd that you get a lot of Steelers games. I know what you mean, I started out so hopeful this season when we were doing well and now it’s back to the “Come on let’s do something here!” yelling more often than not.
