Happy Friday! I spent this morning putting in a few miles on the treadmill and then lifting some things. One mile was on the manual treadmill. Those things are TOUGH. The next two miles were on a "regular" treadmill and by comparison, I felt like I was running on air. I ran a 6:40 last half mile like it was nothing. That's fun. 🙂 Well, I started writing this last Friday, but here we are. Let's see....Where was I? Oh yes! I was about to get into the fact that warmer runs are upon us and suddenly hydration is back to being pretty important. There are SO many options out there, and now I've tried another one and have plenty to say about it.
Greetings and salutations! I'm coming to you live from snowy Virginia (we FINALLY got a real snow day!). I just finished up a 50 mile week (woo hoo!) in preparation for the Blue Ridge Marathon and I'm only a little sore and tired. I'll take that as a win. In this cold weather, we often think about the fact that running will be much different than during the swampy times of summer. It's definitely different to some extent. Dressing ourselves becomes quite challenging. One layer too many and we're heading to sweat city. One body part not covered enough and the run becomes miserable. Some things aren't really different at all, though we think it is. Somehow, hydration becomes less of a priority at times. WRONG.
Hey there! It's December, otherwise known as the time of year where I regret cursing the summer heat as I brave the cold temperatures of winter. Running (or just living) in the cold present a whole new set of challenges. It's a challenge just to leave my warm, soft, magical bed! I was given the opportunity to try out the BUFF® DryFlx+ collection and I jumped right on that! BUFF® and I go WAY back now. I've been running with them for years in both the hot and the cold. If they have a new product, I'm always interested.
Hey hey hey! It's a Monday kind of Tuesday and there two ways of looking at it. If you're busy, you have less time to get everything done this week. If you're not busy, the weekend is closer than it seems!
Every once in a while, I try out a product and review it as one of the perks of being a BibRave Pro. I'm happy to review products for a couple of reasons: 1. It's fun. 2. It's cool to find out what is available to boost our quality of life and enhance our active lifestyles and then keep my friends informed about it. I'm so helpful. 🙂
First things first, I just want to be clear that I was in no way compensated for writing this review. These shoes are pricy, so I WISH that I was, but I'm writing this strictly out of my love for running, running shoes, and keeping my fellow runners informed. Also, I'm not an expert. I …
The holiday season is upon us and the time seems to be FLYING by! It's kinda sad when I don't seem to have enough time because it makes getting ready for Christmas more of a to-do list than something to enjoy. I'm hoping this weekend will have me on track so that I can take a little time to just be happy and not so Charlie Brown. (Clearly I started this post days ago, but I'm gonna leave it. I DID end up happy and not so Charlie Brown!)
Of course I ALWAYS make time for running and often when I run there is music involved. Luckily, my good friends at Aftershokz and BibRave hooked me up with some headphones to try out and review.
Hello friends! I'm still in the middle of my "do whatever I want" phase of running, where I don't have any major races coming up. I might not ever leave this time haha. This morning I ran 8 miles with some speedy ones in between, just cause.
Although my running isn't ramping up, I feel like my product reviews are! I just had the opportunity to try out another BUFF®. I have quite a history with them that goes back to when I got my very first one as a BibRave Pro. I like their practicality for sure when it comes to cooling/warmth/keeping sweat out of your eyes, or whatever is needed. I also like having SO many options as far as colors and types!
I'll admit that I like to look a certain way when I run. It builds confidence to perform well. There's a reason that Rocky wore those red, white and blue trunks (well technically he wore them because of Apollo Creed, but you get it). BUFFs have really become my thing.
I feel like I just posted (because I did), but this time around it's time for another product review! I'm especially excited about this one for a couple of reasons. First, I really loved version 1.0 of this product and second, Christmas is coming and I want to help you or the runners (or otherwise active/dirty people) in your lives get a gift that they'll be happy with!
I bought my first Orange Mud Transition Wrap a couple of years ago, when I first found out about them. I'm an especially sweaty and sometimes stinky runner and the thought of having an item that would allow me to change out of my nasty gear wherever I may be AND keep my sweaty butt off of my car seat. Trust me, you run and have a car for long enough and it WILL start to smell like you. Permastank.
Hello and happy Tempo Thursday to you, my friends. I'm in the middle of another summer-ish week of running that has had its good days and its bad ones, but they'll be more about that later. Today I'm focusing on a product review, because trying things is awesome.
Nuun Rest is a Nutrient-Rich, Relaxation & Recovery drink tablet (you get 10 per tube). It's enhanced with magnesium, tart cherry extract and potassium, which promote a more restful night of sleep. Mix with 4-6 oz. of hot or cold water and enjoy. I personally think it's meant to be hot.
I probably run with something on my head for 9 out of 10 runs these days. It's part of my emsemble. So, when asked if I wanted to test out and review a new material, I jumped on it! Enter BUFF® CoolNet UV+®
