The Runner’s World Half & Festival – It’s not just a race, it’s a FESTIVAL. <1 week!

This year is FLYING by! Christmas stuff is already being sold at Lowe’s (of course) and here I am less than a week from the biggest running event of my 2019, the Runner’s World Half and Festival, in beautiful Bethlehem, PA. It isn’t just a race….IT’S A FESTIVAL.

I’m pretty excited about the stuff I’ll be doing when I’m NOT running too. The running community is a huge part of what makes running special for me, so it’ll be great to mingle with other runners in town. The festival really has it all, even for kids and pets! My kids won’t be tagging along this trip and the Birnschein house is a pet-free house, but there’s always next year. đŸ™‚

I’ll have a busy morning running both the 5k AND the 10k, but after that it’ll be time for the running nerd in me to get crazy. I signed up for a couple of the many seminars that are available for attendance. I picked the “Shoes and Gear” Seminar (of course) and the “How to Run the RW Half” Seminar (being prepared never hurts). Hooray!

I plan on a nap sometime after that and then I’ll wake up to eat my weight in pasta. đŸ™‚

I plan on getting to know some of my fellow BibRave Pros that will be attending and hopefully other runners that I may know from Twitter/IG, etc. PLEASE, let me know if you’ll be there and make sure to say hello!

Once I knock out that pesky little half marathon, I plan to enjoy the post-race festivities for a bit (isn’t that why we run? hehe), maybe grab several bites to eat and then get back on the road.

Doing the Grand Slam (26.2 miles in 4 runs over the weekend) is really going to be such a good thing for me. I’m not worried about PRs or BQs or any of that sometimes pressure-filled mess. I’m going to have a good time. I’m going to run for the sake of running. I’m going to coke and joke with so many other runners in this great community. đŸ™‚

hugs

I hope that at least a few of you can make it and join in the festivities. There’s a race for everyone with the 5k, 10k or half marathon options (or all of them!). Beat the last price increase on 10/18 if you can and feel free to use the discount code RWHALFBIBRAVE19 for 15% off of any race distance!
